This hotel is in a fantastic position We arrived at the metro and it was literally across the road. All the staff were very friendly. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the street but it was unbelievable quiet when the windows and shutters were closed. The room was clean and comfy and breakfast covered something for everyone. It felt very safe in the area and we walked everywhere - trevi fountain, spanish steps, colosseum and even vatican city only took about 30 minutes. The only downside was that the coffee, tea and milk werent replaced when the room was cleaned so we had to keep asking for more

A nice hotel in a centric place...near Spanish steps, Via del Corso, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon....and not that far from the Colliseum...Metro station is one block away, and a lot of bus lines pass near it...

The room was clean and quiet as we had wished for our stay. Breakfast was good and had a lot of choices. The location of the hotel is excellent, in a very nice area of Rome, and it is highly recommended in particular for a short stay in this beautiful city.

We were really let down by our experience with Hotel Alexandra. Our consistent experience was that they promised a lot but the delivery was very disappointing. 1. We requested a car to pick us up at the rail station. Their ad showed a really nice luxury limo. I didn't expect to actually get that, but the smoke-filled mini-van that we got was way on the other end of the scale. The driver didn't come inside to meet us so we kept calling the hotel to try and understand where he was parked. Turned out he wasn't parked. He kept circling. It was just a really disappointing experience for what was a pretty hefty fee. A taxi would have been much cheaper and much easier. 2. When we arrived, they were confused we weren't a group of four. Not sure how they determined this as we specifically had e-mailed with them and told them there were two of us. This confusion led to: 3. We had booked a nice suite, but got a room that was devoid of furniture except for three beds (for four people, it seems) and a few uncomfortable table chairs. There was a lot of room, but it was not a nice place to stay. It looked like an attic that they'd had someone's nephew try and convert into a room. It did have a very spacious balcony, but the view was just of rooftops (we had some wonderful city views at other hotels in Naples and Venice). 4. Worst of all, the hotel room clearly had some water damage from the bathroom (see attached pictures). This led to a musty odor that really bothered us. We asked about moving to a smaller room and were told they had nothing. My wife tried asking again on our second day and was told they didn't understand the request the first time. They still said they had nothing to move us to. 5. When we mentioned the problems at check out, the desk clerk got very defensive and said it wasn't her fault and that she tried to tell others, but no one would listen to her. All in all, we paid a lot of money for a luxury experience and received a very disappointing experience in every direction. Would not recommend staying here. While the location is excellent and the lobby is very nice, nothing else ended up being a good experience. Please look elsewhere for a quality hotel stay in Rome.

This is a grand old hotel in a smart part of Rome. I thought the staff very pleasant and helpful and enjoyed my stay. Showers can take a little while to run hot, but after a few minutes they come good! All in all, an enjoyable stay.
